During the month of August/2006 we will be experimenting with a way of keeping a record of participation at the Eco-Village. This is linked to the transition of ownership where the ability to remain a desicion making member of the LA Eco-Village would depend on how much does one participate.
It was called participation “credit” to allow for more functions that just tracking. Eventually the hours could be converted to sweat equity, entered into a local currency system, or deducted from the rent.
We are using a simple online spreadsheet to keep the information in one place and to allow for multiple editors. The spreadsheet contais the events for the month including community meetings, work parties, community potlucks and a space for extra hours worked on different proyects. Real Names have been replaced by a codename to mantain the privacy of members. Editing the spreadsheet would be done by event organizers or designated editors.
