Building Committee Meeting 6-13-05

GOALS:
- To complete more renovation and repair jobs every month.
- To make it easy for ecovillagers to find out about paid job opportunities.
- To coordinate workers, supplies and tools needed for multiple jobs.
The M&R Committee will review requested repairs and post a list of appropriate projects in categories of under $100, between $100 and $250 and over $250 on the M&R Board to notify ecovillagers of paid work opportunities.
Ecovillagers interested in performing posted work should contact the Building Manager about their availability. Preference will be given to those available to work that will abide by work guidelines and have the necessary skills. Dale will determine if the person has the required skills and understands the scope of the job. Inexperienced ecovillagers may gain skills by working with an experienced worker or with supervision. Dale and the worker will discuss supplies and tools needed that Dale could provide. Workers who have proven they have sufficient skills will not need an ok from Dale to work on projects similar to ones they have done in the past. Once non-emergency jobs have been posted for more than a week, the M&R Committee can pursue contracting with non-ecovillagers to get the work done.
