Today’s meeting had new guests Hunter, Maev and Jocelyn. They have previous co-op experiences from Chicago and San Francisco, and are willing to provide suggestions how we could improve our food coop.

Bulk Order:

The bulk order deadline is Monday at Midnight. It acts a little like the food coop: if you order, you need to volunteer for a certain job.
We are trying to build up enough momentum to do a monthly bulk order, rather than the quarterly we’ve done previously.
Maev will be in charge of organizing volunteers to process the order, making sure all the positions are filled and executed.

We all love it! Thank you Kathy Hill. Email suggestions/articles to: kathill777@gmail.com

South Central Farms/ CSA Field Trip:
A possibility of a closer farm to visit, we are not sure what the status of the S.C. trip is.

We are no longer splitting Lettuce Heads:
We have been debating for some time about how to split up Lettuce heads. Do we tear or do we cut? etc. etc. etc.

Lara suggested that from now on we do neither. We decided that we will no longer be splitting lettuce. Instead we will try to balance out the lack of lettuce in one box with different vegetables in the other. A fair balance will be the responsibility of the cell coordinator.

Cell Coordinator Meeting.

We would like to ask all cell coordinators to show up to our next meeting on Oct 12.

The lack of space
As our orders get bigger we are using more and more space to sort vegetables. Perhaps we should start bringing in tables from the courtyard so we could have a 2 layers of sorting space. Also, feel free to move the couches around in the lobby to make more room.

Food Boxes Left in Refrigerator

Motion:
There is now a Maximum amount of time to have your box here. If you haven’t picked up your box by Tuesday, eco-villagers have the right to compost or divide up your box. If you cannot pick up your box by Tuesday but still want to, please email Lara at Laraeco@hotmail.com

Motion passed unanimously.

Next Meeting Date:October 12. We look forward to seeing all the Cell Coordinators there!
