Community Emergency Response Team Training

Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training at Los Angeles Ecovillage

CERT is an all-risk, all-hazard training program to prepare neighborhoods for emergencies caused by disasters. According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, during a disaster, the number and scope of incidents in a large city like Los Angeles can overwhelm conventional emergency services. It may be days or even weeks before all neighborhoods would receive the critical emergency services they will need. Los Angeles Ecovillage, in cooperation with the Rampart Village Neighborhood Council and the L.A. Fire Department, is making this crucial training available to communities and individuals interested in emergency training. Attendance in this valuable class requires a one-evening, seven-week commitment, but it is free of charge. Seats are limited. To reserve a seat, register early.

Time and Place: Wednesdays, August 29 – October 10, 2007, 7:00 – 9:30 pm.
Los Angeles Ecovillage, 117 Bimini Place, Los Angeles (One block east of Vermont Ave. off First Street)
