Left image: the corner of Virgil and First street (link to the map), 101 N Virgil street. The place seems abandoned. The Mistery is the sign that says “Columbia”. It has been there for at least two years, and it seems undisturbed by local graffiti writers, although there are some signs of erased graffiti.

Someone pointed that it resembles the work of a Colombian artist named Antonio Caro. In 1976 he made a piece called Colombia - Coca cola (oil paint on metal 70x100cm, it is in the collection of the Museo de arte Contemporaneo in Caracas, Venezuela) - the other image.

What is the conection?
Is this a Hommage to Caro, a continent away?
Is it completely unrelated?

Dasi says that you can see the Hazardous Materials sign. This is Columbia Pest Control Co. tel (213) 387-3285.
