1. Community Green Light
- difference of opinion: make it easier (Joe’s) or harder (Lara’s revision)?
- comments: language in two versions actually sounds quite similar
- concern about the line: a positive sense about the applicant is necessary to move forward
- concern about people not being around and getting the green light
- should we change the wording in the process framework to indicate that people are expected to attend at least some community events before being eligible for greenlight?
- can we just try it out and see how it works?
- less is at stake in the greenlight than in a membership decision, could add a statement that clarifies the difference
- add under 1.2: attend at least one meeting and one potluck
- are there places where we can safeguard against letting in anyone who goes through the process
- a positive sense by the community is “desirable” rather than “necessary”
- concern about getting to a place where people feel pressured into approving membership
- will revisit after meeting
2. Ann’s Meeting With Lois Report
- Dave and Ann will draft a document to give to people making inquiries
- need to remind Lois to refer people to the Bienvenidos committee
- Ann will send an email to schedule the discussion with Lois
- Federico will email Lois with what we want to appear on the LAEV website
3. New Member Candidate Orientation
- Yuki has a draft…yay, draft!
- add a paragraph outlining the goals
- add a sentence about having a sense of group purpose as a basis for consensus decision making
- creating a script? Develop it over time?

5. How to handle people in process when new process comes into effect.
- Still don’t have greenlight
- Affects most active: Hop and Adelila and Sam and Anna
- Probably past ‘green light’ already
- perhaps greenlight current folks during agreement on greenlight?
- test greenlight on new peeps?
- perhaps test on current applicants, but maintain flexibility on timing?
- timing is recommendation for applicants, we have control
- stop telling folks different things after each meeting
- Dave managed to get through a lot of ambiguity, hopes that current applicants respect the process enough to be patient
- most active people in process know some people well, but don’t know some people at all, need time to get to know everyone
- Anna, Sam, Hop and Adelila all know that they might have to go through the greenlight
- still feels cumbersome and unwelcoming
- need to approve the greenlight process!
- Consensus: Assuming that we approve the greenlight process by the end July, Hop, Adelila, Anna and Sam will need to go through the greenlight process, but, in recognition of the fact that they are not starting over in the process, we give ourselves the option of a membership decision earlier than two months.
